Explore the treasures of Céret and the surrounding area
Museum of modern art, music museum, Romanesque and Baroque art, military architecture, Vermeille coast, Canigou massif .......... and many other places to discover.
Situated in the heart of the old town of Céret, next to the great church of St Pierre and very close to the Museum of Modern Art, the Hôtel Vidal is enthroned under the immense and grandiose plane trees of the main boulevard. This handsome Orientalist-style building, which has housed the hotel since 1936, was the residence of Monseigneur Soubiranne, archbishop of Céret, whose elegant stucco decoration on the façade recalls his missionary sojourns overseas (palm trees, Christ the King, Sacred Heart, Cross of St John of Jerusalem).
You enter via a charming patio and a wide 18th-century white marble staircase.
A beautiful terrace shaded by a luxuriant vine overlooks the whole. The hotel's bright, cosy rooms all have balconies, and the restaurant has retained the cachet of a 19th-century bourgeois salon, where you can enjoy Catalan and Mediterranean-inspired cuisine.
